I always see the cookie-shaped doggy treats at the pet store checkout counters and the cookies look better than human cookies. I imagine they too would taste nothing like real cookies!

By the way Kathy, if you're looking for jerky that doesn't taste like tasteless unsalted beef jerky, you should try this stuff: garlic black pepper beef jerky - it's ridiculously good.

Lets make it this way: the chocolate is the food of the girl-gods and the bacon of the men-gods :) Although I like them both, in a different way!

Okay, glad to know I am not the only ding dong in the bunch as I too have tasted doggy treats and dry kibble stuff but never the wet stuff. My first taste of a doggy treat was around the 70's and my little poodle used to get "donuts" for a treat. Round, colorful little crispy things. And I wanted to know what it tasted like. Well not very good the say the least. However, now a days some of the treats smell delicious and don't taste too bad either. Only now I'm trying them for my Maltese to see why she really loves them :) Hee hee.

Mayim Cilantro -- I can't say I remember ever eating in a Pancake House. Holy breakfast, Batman! I've had chocolate chip pancakes before. The first time I saw it no a menu, I couldn't believe my eyes. Thanks for the dog chow warning. I'll stay away from it.

The best bacon (they cure it themselves) is at The Original Pancake House. The food at this American chain is so good you wouldn't know it was a chain if they didn't include a list of locations on the back of the menu. I'm 90% vegan, but my husband can always tempt me to go off the diet at this place! The bacon is chewy and flavorful, the juice is fresh-squeezed, they put real whipped cream on the chocolate chip (semisweet!) pancakes, and their German pancake, the Dutch Baby, (including the apple-covered and vegetable with cheese varieties) would be my last meal if I were on death row!
BTW, I did once taste Purina Rat Chow at a college dorm party. Gritty and not worth eating.

That's an interesting point, Ernie. I only know a couple United States Canadians, so I'm not sure how they communicate. But back home in Alberta, we shore do cook up a fine mess o' bacon! Yee-ha!

I should also like to mention that WE Canadians eat bacon. And some of US Canadians are also capable of using the words "we" and "us" appropriately.

Tim E. -- Sorry I didn't get back to you before. I'm a little bummed. NBC apparently holds copyright for those Jim Gaffigan YouTube videos. They aren't available anymore. I loved to play them every now and again. "My greasy lover bacon!"

Joe Poniatowski -- I have the nerve for a lot of things. Weird things. So check back sometime. You never know what I'll try next.

I was pretty sure I really liked your site until I came across this post. Now I am sure I love it!
Anyone that supports Jim Gaffigan is a friend of mine.
Like Canucklehead said, us Canadians eat real bacon, grease and all.
