Bacon for Your Blog
Bizarre, Fun, food December 22nd, 2008
In this season of giving I bestow upon you, my faithful readers, a gift like no other. And that gift, of course, is BACON.
I found a cool site that will baconize any web site simply by adding its URL to the end of it.
Here is the site: http://bacolicio.us/
If you’d like to see The Junk Drawer in all its bacon glory, click this: http://bacolicio.us/http://www.junkdrawerblog.com
Freaky and delicious! Walk back from your screen and it looks even more realistic.
You’re welcome.
If you enjoyed this post, make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed!
Stumble it!

Unfinished Rambler — Yes, I have a thing and that thing probably warrants a 12-step program. I wonder if they’d serve bacon at the meetings. You know, to ween me off gradually.
Vegas Princess — Double bacon! I should use it on a bacon website and then I can have breakfast.
JD at I Do Things — Your comment is made all the funnier when read aloud, as I did last night, with gusto! Tell your dentist I sent you.
robert bourne — Bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon BACON!! Can never have enough!
kristin/kwr221 — Pass it on! If you pay it forward, bacon might come back to you.
Babs beetle — I actually found this site while browsing Reddit.com categories to add to my favorites. There is an entire subcategory dedicated to bacon, as there should be.
absepa — It does. And that’s what God intended.
Anna Lefler — Hmmm, I wonder what tater tots would taste like wrapped in a blanket of bacon.
kristin — Oh, yes. That can happen. Bacon on the Brain. You’re excused.
Eric S. — Oh, man. You made my mouth water. And to think I have none of that in my house right now.
Sassy Pants — Very cool! Maybe they should throw some eggs on there, too.
Musing — Probably, but bacon cures all ills.
fragileheart — Another victim.
Lee — Looks real, doesn’t it? Send me the bill. I feel responsible.
Linh — You can’t NOT love this thing! It’s the next best thing to real bacon.
Mike — Oh, no. For all my talk about bacon, I don’t actually eat it every day. All good things in moderation, eh?
Father Muskrat — I’ve no doubt your party is now the stuff of legend. If you have another, invite me. I’ll bring the pig.
Jeff — Let us know if anyone freaked out. I can’t stop looking at it!
Kara — The Power of Bacon.
tahtimbo — Then you’ll love this. All the joy of a bacon cheeseburger without the pesky meat getting in the way.
The Concerned Trade Show Guru Steve — I do realize I have a problem, and that’s the first step, right? If you stage an intervention, I’ll make bacon. Oh, wait. I’m not supposed to know it’s coming, am I?
Lauren — Sorry! Pretend they’re latkes!
Gandalf and Grayson — Wait, wait, wait. Grampy forgot the bacon? What a travesty! Tell him to make up for it today and double it up!
The Alopecian Muse — Yes, by all means. It’s kosher if you want it to be!
Vivienne — Awesome! I think I’ll do it, too. Beware of the vegetarians where you work, though. A bacon joke can go too far and you might get a fist in the face.
Lilly — BACON = FUN. Says so in the dictionary.
Mrs. G — Made mine, too! I baconized a lot of sites yesterday. I know, it’s a sickness.
Curtis — It wants you! Go forth and share the bacon!
December 23rd, 2008 at 7:34 am

I can almost smell it…. oh!

now I am cooking the whole pack honey because of that! hahaha.

Queenmadison — Honestly, the only thing that would have made it look more realistic is if there were streaks of grease running down the screen.
Daisy the Curly Cat — I do trust you. Do you know how I know Beggin’ Strips don’t really taste like bacon? Here’s how!
commonsmith — Seriously.
Chris Casey — How do you know I’m not already the Baconator? By day I’m a computing consultant, by night, I sizzle.
Babs beetle — I was thinking they need to make a complete breakfast overlay for when you’re really hungry! And only one strip? Who eats only one?
marvelgoose — Har! “Lettuce pray…” I almost ordered a BLT today for lunch, but I’m trying to save all my calories for the foodfest I’ll be engaging in over the next 48 hours. Maybe next week.
BigPappa — Ain’t it?
My Bacon-loving Canucklehead — Awesome! Seriously, a shower of bacon bits. Tilt head back. Open wide.
fidget — No, there is nothing it can’t do. It is heaven-sent and omnipotent.
Jodi — Same to you and yours!
Michelle Gartner — Good stuff indeed. All bumpy and with just the right amount of fatty goodness.
Laura Junkfoodaholic — You’re welcome and same to you!
Comedy Plus — One of the coolest web designs I’ve ever seen.
Jeff — Ah, so you did it! Not something you hear every day, huh?
Preston — I’ll have to ask Babs Beetle if she can dress me in bacon. Happy holidays to you, too, my friend.
Kathy — Dammit. Hey, at least you got some bacon today. I could only dream about it and look at a facsimile of it. I still drooled. I’m drooling now.
Jen at HappilyEverAfterLand — I got my timing screwed up, didn’t I? It occurs to me that I’m having a hard time responding to these comments without a plate of bacon at my side. Torture, I tell ya.
DJ — I know. Sorry! Buck up. Get yourself some bacon tomorrow and you’ll be feeling yourself in no time.
Regan — You would get sick and it would leave a disgusting mark on your screen. Now go get real bacon and think of me baconless. It’s the least you could do.
haleyhughes — You’re right! And the colors match perfectly. Weird about your ad! Go forth and get bacon!
PaulsHealthBlog — No, but I was checking out a Hanukkah foods online today and I’d be totally down with it.
The Hawg! — Looks cool! I think the bacon makes the site look even more professional, don’t you? Merry Bacon Christmas!
Lee — I’m on it. Will email you soon.
brooke — Go ahead. Peel it off. I dare you!
Emmy — Same here. Chocolate is a close second. But if I had only one choice, the fat wins.
ManInTheMoon — It’s a beautiful thing.

Had a hacker really targeted my tiny blog? I never even noticed the URL change. It wasn’t until I asked to come look at the bacon on my site that she cracked and told me she did it. Dorothy Stahlnecker — There’s a good chance you’ll find more bacon here in the future. I realize I should have an entire category dedicated to bacon. It’s a little weird because this is not a food blog.
Sprite’s Keeper — But it’s fake bacon, so it’s all good, right? Glad you found me. And thanks go to Ferd for giving me quite a nice Christmas gift!
Ken at Dad to Two — Awesome!!! I’m glad you fell victim to a little bacon trickery. Too funny!
Tim — OK, so let’s discuss my superhero outfit. I want it to be like Cat Woman, but I don’t do spandex too well. Perhaps at least the top part could look like this. But it doesn’t look like it’d give me much support. Gotta keep workin’ on this.
stinkypaw — That’s OK. Go get a dinner roll to sop up the grease with. Nom nom!
DrowseyMonkey — “You’re insane, you know that right?” Oh, yes. Yes, yes, yes. I’m reminded of it daily. But I’m OK with it. When I stop talkin’ about bacon, be worried.

Caledonian Jim — Possibly, but it’s only virtual bacon, so I think we’re good!

Jenn Thorson — So funny! And if I had it my way, the show would have only bacon-related commercials.
Chris Casey — Oh, yeah, baby! She’s hot, hot, hot!
Joe — Thank you and may I not wake up with a bacon hangover in the morning.
Chris Casey — I’m equally tragic. Whenever I assemble things that come in pieces, I wind up with leftovers, but the things still stand!
Rickey Hendersen — Kathy wishes Rickey a very merry Christmas!
eastcoastlife — It’s very fun and addictive, just like real bacon. And same to you!
Casey — Welcome! Yeah, wasn’t that just the nicest tribute! I’m still so humbled by that. I’m thinking of creating a “More Bacon” button to let sit in my sidebar. Maybe I’ll do that and make it lead to this post.
ish — And same to you and yours!
amber — It is creepy, isn’t it? I’m partial to microwavable bacon (I know, sacrilege), but it comes out perfectly that way, with no more fat globules than are necessary and delicious. Merry Christmabacon!
Robin — Thanks, bud! I’m happy to have you as a regular reader. As for nude bacon frying, I think that’s something you do exactly once, if ever! OUCH!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays
December 26th, 2008 at 7:45 am
Mrs. Mecomber — Wonderful indeed! The aroma is half the beauty of bacon. I hope you had a nice Christmas!
Dan Brantley — And same to you. Hope you’re still basking in the after Christmas glow!
Alan — Windy was the subject of much discussion at our Christmas dinner table yesterday. We felt bad for her, flapping in the wind, alone, on Christmas. She was with us in spirit, though.
Mike Foster — Thank you, and same to you. Let’s hope 2009 brings more joy than last year, eh? I’ve never tried soy bacon. I can’t say I’ve even seen it. Sounds waaaaay healthier, but slightly less enjoyable.
Chris (Casey) — Merry Christmas, Chris! Hope you enjoyed the day and don’t have to work today.
Lidian — Same to you!
Peter McCartney — Peter! There are several spittle-covered screens as a result of this post. I suggest everyone go out and get the real stuff and enjoy! And same to you!
Christa at Giggle On — Hey, that strip could fool anyone. I love what the designer did to it yesterday. He gave it a Santa hat and then later promised to do something festive with it for New Year’s, so check back.
Joe — If you can believe it, none of the half dozen dishes I had yesterday contained bacon. Not one! I am bacon depressed.
meleah rebeccah — Thanks, my dear. And same to you and your family!
Jen — I aim to please! I hope you had a fun Christmas! Have a great weekend.
IRONPIGPEN — You’d think I’d have been to the stadium to see a game by now, wouldn’t you? I mean, pigs in my backyard!
Mamaflo — Same to you Mama!

I came from your secret santa spin. I’m getting deje vu, like I found your blog once before and then lost how I got here. Did you ever do a post on chocolate covered bacon?

Mmmmm, bacon. Thanks for that and Merry Christmas.

phhhst — Glad you made it back! Weird how blog landings come and go. I never wrote about choc-covered bacon, but I’ve read about it. Mostly how it’s really hard to get it right. Can’t be too limp, must be hard enough to support the chocolate, but not so hard it’s burnt.
Hindleyite — Bacony indeed! Thanks for the add. Found you surfing EC today. Or maybe it was Humorbloggers.com?
kyte — It’s awesome, is it not? Your site looks wonderful with a side of bacon.
Brent Diggs — Anything to add flavor to the holidays! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

Steven Wilson — I’ve stopped looking at it myself because we are baconless at the moment. No sense in punishing myself. I had a thoroughly enjoyable Christmas and hope you had the same. Sad part is going back to work today!
December 29th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Only YOU could find something like this!
Hope you had a terrific Christmas Kathy. It sure feels good to finally be back online after cooking, cleaning, shopping, wrapping…. gah! I ALMOST miss work! (Almost, but not quite).

Maureen — I have bacon radar. I did have a very nice Christmas and hope yours was great, too. In a way, I’m glad the insanity is over, but it was so nice being off work for five days.

This sort of thing make me sit back and ponder how much things don’t work out the way whe thought they would. With all the high hopes and promise of the internet bringing the world closer together and promoting mutual understanding, in reality, the internet has given us the ability to put ‘bacon’ on anything….. I LIKE IT! It’s BACON!!!

Bruce — Someone had to do it, and I’m glad they did. Think of how the world is made better by spreading the love and the grease.

This is strangely fascinating. I popped it on top of my blog and it kind of seemed to be sitting 1/4 of an inch above the page. Wierd!

Ian Brodie — It is weird. It gives your blog a nice 3D quality. And I’m guessing it also makes you hungry. BTW, I had bacon with every meal yesterday. It was a good day.

I spent half an hour testing this on different websites. I’m sure this would come handy someday.

All this talk about bacon made me start buying it again.
I have always loved it but never wanted to bother cooking it at home. My family thanks you for our newfound weekend
bacon routine!

Reverend Tex B. Acon — Amen, brotha!
Audrarian-formerly misspiggytoes (I thought that was you!) — Remember, you don’t have to fry it up in a pan and make a mess. Just put four or so strips on a paper towel, cover it with another and nuke for four minutes (about one min. per slice). Enjoy!
