Very low humidity environments are conducive for static buildup. You could use moisturizing cream or anti-static lotion on you.

I have never had a static electricity shock in my ears with my Ipod But I often got shocks for shopping carts at certain stores.

I can only think of the car as something that continuously shocks me. It’s weird though, sometimes it shocks me and other times it shocks the passenger. I’m scared to shut my door sometimes.

Fortunately, I’ve never been shocked in the ears. Unfortunately, it happens quite often at my work and I haven’t figured out how the electricity keeps building up. I’m glad no one called 911 while you were out on your walk.

I have noticed that it’s been a really static-y year so far! Everytime I brush my hair, it’s “Zzaap! Zzaap!” with each stroke. I have to use a bit of water to smooth it down! Also, I’ll pull my bedsheets apart and there will be so much static I can see flashes in the dark. o__o I wonder if there’s something in the air…?

Ha Kathy! No, I have never had this. The only shocks I get are from those darned shopping carts at certain stores. The mall is the worst; it’s the carpet, I’m sure.

I definitely would not want shocks in my ears! Yikes!

I have never heard of an ipod causing shocks until now. Aren’t there sprays that get rid of static on clothes? If that doesn’t help, carry a big boom box so everyone can hear those fabulous tunes you’re carrying.

I’ll have to ask my daughter about the Ipod. As for me, I use a Walkman or MP3 player. Haven’t had the shock thing, however could that make one walk faster….
