What’s That Winners
contests, What's That? August 25th, 2011Hi, guys! I’m finally getting around to announcing the winners of the latest What’s That contest.
A lot of you guessed correctly on the first item, which is a vegetable dicer. That was far too easy, but don’t you worry. I’ll have much harder ones in the future, as I know how much you like to beat your heads against a wall.

Melody guessed correctly first, so she gets bragging rights and prizes.
The second object is a rack that you attach to the inside of a clothes dryer to rest items on that you don’t want tumbling around getting mangled.
For my non-U.S. readers, that baseball cap is for the Philadelphia Phillies, who are doing quite well this season. I have a co-worker whose office is filled with Phillies paraphernalia, so much that it looks like a bloody massacre from all the red. Go Phils!

Babs Beetle guessed that one correctly, although I wasn’t 100% sure she meant that it went inside the dryer. So I’m also awarding prizes to Lin too, who said it was actually for the dryer itself. I’ll pop you emails shortly.
Hope to be back to regular programming soon. Work has been challenging of late, but I just got my Boo the Round-Headed Dog book, so I’m delighted by that.
I look at it whenever I’m stressed and it makes me happy.

Much as I would like to be a winner, I haven’t seen one of those before. I did mean a clothes dryer/airer shelf, so I bow to Lin, who is the real winner.
That little dog is a real dog? He looks like a stuffed toy.

Phillies fan? My A.P. is related to Phils’ pitcher Drew Carpenter, and Drew himself served as our Principal for a Day last year. Great guy!

SCCCCCOOOORRRRRREEEE! And do you know why I know what it is?? Because I have one of those racks and it’s a mofo to try to get it in your dryer properly. What is with all those wire arms???
I am really excited to be right for once–and YES, I am making my family know that fact over and over again this weekend.
I’d be thrilled to have the Jesus band-aids. You can never have enough of Jesus OR band-aids, so this is a double bonus!

i’ve never seen a vegetable dicer. shoot, i didn’t know there was such a thing. and the reason i missed the dryer rack was because ours has two arms and a pair of knees, but no legs.

Babs — That’s very honest of you. Although, are you sure you just don’t want more bandages for your collection? What are you up to now, like three wins on this game? You’re so good at it, I should try to figure out when you’re sleeping and post then. Re: Boo — I know! He looks like a stuffed bear!
Chris — Well, I’m not a knowledgeable Phillies fan. I don’t know who anyone is, really. But my coworker could probably spout off stats for the last ten years. That’s cool about the Principal for a Day! Bet the kids were excited.
lin — I was so happy you got it because you wanted it so bad. And yes, it’s a mofo getting it in the dryer correctly. How many times did I put it in there, slam the door, only to have it shoot right back at me. Jesus bandaids on the way! Congrats!
Ladybuggz — You should hear that thing when the hubs uses it. I can cut through anything, but it sounds like it. Every time he slams the lid thing down, I jump.

Jealous! Seen Drew pitch a lot around here – I have season tix to the Phils AAA team. (Yes, I’m the coworker Kathy so lovingly referred to above.) He seems like a great guy, he is a great pitcher, and I was glad to see him get the callup to the big leagues!

Karen — It’s really a picture book. Boo is a man of few words. Fifty, I think.
kathy — No, you cannot have him. If anyone gets him, it’s me. And then I keep him in my pocket.
Bloody Massacre Grant — I’m glad you know who all these people are. Say, when you gonna call the next AAA game at Coca-Cola park? I’d love to hear you do it again.
Fred — Awesome! So how does the hair stand up like that? See, ‘cuz Boo’s brother has long fluffy hair and I can’t imagine how it gets all poofy like that, even when it’s short. Inquiring minds want to know.
Linda — You have to have a keen eye and be faster than Babs. She’s the one you wanna watch out for. The woman never sleeps.
Margaret — I think they put him on a shelf at night and dust him off in the morning and set him on the floor and draw that face on him.
Daisy the Curly Cat — Oh, but see, Boo does dress up, BUT not nearly as cute as you and Harley do. He doesn’t know any better. You know, because he’s a DOG and I think we all know that cats rule on the cat walk.
flit — You aren’t the first person to say that. The proof is in the video. They even did a cute little short of him walking around the editor’s office complex. They had a book party for him and he wore a hat and everything. I love Boo.

I’ve never gotten one of these right. I overthink and miss the obvious. I love to complicate things. I tie knots instead of bows, staple instead of clip. One of these days I’ll wake up and smell the instant coffee @ $10 a jar.
Incidentally, was Boo stuffed by a Taxidermist?
