I can’t stand eating food that is looking back at me.
Especially crackers.
Speaking of “crackers”…..

Who in the world eats so slow they have the time to figure out what their food looks like?
But that soup really looks good. I can eat soup the year round. Nothing like a good bowl of chili on a hot July day.
October 5th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
I think it looks shocked, like it didn’t expect you to eat it so fast. Maybe a little scared, too.

Maureen — And he was so happy, too. Little guy never knew what was in store for him mere seconds later. Gulp!
Jeff — Yes, you do need to look closer. I assure you, if you stop for a split second, you can spot something. It’s not that hard. It’ll be a huge day at the Junk Drawer if you submit something here. There’ll be a parade.
Lee — The face was really obvious to me. There’s a whole book dedicated to pictures of faces seen in objects. Check it out! I’m impressed you can eat soup year-round. I typically eat it only when it’s chilly or when I’m sick. Mmmm, mmmm good!
Regan — I think he was confused. “What’s she taking all those pictures for? Am I gonna be in a magazine?” And then it was over. RIP little cracker guy.
Daisy the Curly Cat — He IS a blockhead! A yummy, yummy blockhead.
Beamer — OK about the interview. I’ll plan to announce it here on Tuesday. I’m having some slight regrets about having revealed my SAT score! It’s so pathetic!
Joe — Exactly how happy is Rocco with his square head?
October 5th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
Oh how do you find them? I just eat my food. Well I do look at it but not for faces
That soup looks scrummy!

Babs beetle — I swear, it just popped out at me. Right away! I love to eat, so I don’t spend much time looking, honest. The soup was delicious, although I was bummed there were so few tortellinis left. I had to work hard to get them out of the pot.
Anne — Oh, yes. Slurp! Poor guy never knew what hit him.
DeadRooster — Funny! Ever see Spaceballs? I love the scene where the alien comes out and does a dance down the lunch counter. Hello my baby, hello my honey!
Lauren — Ooooo! Questions to answer! I’ll get to them today. Can’t wait!
fragileheart — I can’t eat soup without crackers in them. Even chili. Weird, I know.
Laura-Junkfoodaholic — Mr. Bill screamed the whole way down. Poor little fella.
PaulsHealthBlog — I think you’re onto something there. Happy face crackers! Not a bad idea at all.
Luxor — He smiled until I pulled the spoon up to my mouth. “Uh-oh.”
Woman Tribune — I’ve always put crackers in my soup. Probably doubles the calories considering how many I shove in there. But yeah. It’s crackertastic!

I sqeezed a random pattern of ketchup on a fried egg sandwich the other day and it came out like a perfect smiley, with eyes, nose, and mouth. For some reason it made my whole day nice. I guess it doesn’t take much. I’m going to go ahead and assume that’s a good thing.

As mentioned on Twitter:
1) It looks like Sponge Bob Square Pants.
2) I’m starting a new category, “Food that talks to me.”
3) Use oyster crackers to eliminate the personalization that crackers lend themselves to.
4) Jaffer often sees things in his soup after smoking herbal cigarettes.
5) I think you should take your life/blog to a new level and wear a Kathy-Kam, catching these moments in real time.

Tomato Tortellini! Yum! Of course you ate him, I’m surprised he survived as long as he did. I eat soup year round, actually had Tomato Bisque with cheese and fresh rolls this weekend. No faces in my soup though.
Funny, after reading this post, I looked at my slice of coffee cake on my desk, and it had a face too! (even though I had nibbled already on the head)
I’ll send the photo tonight when I upload from my camera.

kouji — It did all but say Hi to me!
Shieldmaiden96 — Oh, it doesn’t take much for me either. You really need to see how excited I get when I find these things. You’re in good company.
Geakz — It’s totally Sponge Bob! I never took to oyster crackers. I think I like the crumbliness of saltines. I can’t believe Jaffer didn’t find anything on all that food he ate after his fast. There HAD to be something in there! If I do any kind of cam, it’s going to be for the plastic bag. Still trying to figure out a way to pull that off.
Jenn — Yes, one or the other. I’m so glad my officemates don’t think me too weird. I got confirmation first from a colleague on the cracker. She agreed it was blog-worthy.
Babs beetle — Honest, it takes only a second. I have faith in you.
Chris Casey — I got off my cereal bar kick. Got so sick of them. Now I’m on apples. Bring on the fiber!
JD at I Do Things — I love the bouncing toast guy! See, I’m not so crazy. My cracker face made you think of the toast. It’s all there. We just have to look!
Swubird — Yeah, but I was starving!!! What else could I have done with it? It would have just sat on my desk, all soggy and stuff. I did it a favor, really.
shadowsrider — Love tomato bisque w/cheese! Man, sounds like a perfect meal. I shall await your coffee cake. As for it not having a head, that’s OK. Mine didn’t really have a chin.
Shinade — The soup was delicious. Crackers without soup is like a BLT without mayo. Just ain’t right.
brooke — They should! Little kids would find them even more fun to eat. Love white cheddar cheez-its. I can eat a whole box in two days, sadly.
Paunchiness — Deliciously smiley and deliciously filling.
Bruce — Oh, don’t do that. Your tech support will surely hate you. The hardest part is being really hungry, yet needing to get a perfect shot. I suffer for my craft.
KFJ — Not a bit! He was going to get eaten anyway, but at least now he’s immortalized in the blog. Pretty good deal, huh?

Kathy, let me share my recipe for Casey’s famous three cheese nachos.
First get a regular sized fiesta plate. Cover with a layer of nachos. Cover that with layer of provolone slices
Cover that with another layer of nachos, then add a layer of sliced swiss cheese. Then another layer of nachos, covered with slices of colby/jack cheese. Insert in Microwave for 90 seconds. MMMmmmmmmmmm!
There is also a famous 4 cheese nachos with either asiago or pepperjack cheeses. try it, you will like it! You can mix and match the cheeses, if you so desire!

Monique — Yep, that’s a neurosis allright! Think of it this way, he gave his life for a good cause.
Tim — Homemade? I’m impressed! I’m a take-out girl, all the way.
Chris — See, now here’s the deal. You can eat like that because you exercise. If I ate that, I’d be carrying them around for a week. Love pepperjack, though. And farmer’s cheese (though that’s not a good nacho cheese). Now I want something with cheese for dinner. Thanks.
kev — Don’t make me go there. I keep saying I’m OK with it, OK?
October 7th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
Okay, Kathy, truth be told, I only eat a bite or two of the Nachos, I make them for my wife at least once a week, though.

Christopher — Tortellini is ring-shaped pasta. It’s interesting to note that mine were not ring-shaped at all. They were more like tiny raviolis (square-shaped), and I had to work very hard for them because there weren’t many left. I think I smashed half of them trying to get them out of the container with the ladle. I never thought I’d like tomato soup, but it’s good and very filling. Try it!
