Putting in some face time
Fun September 29th, 2007After reading my post But I don’t want to look like Cher, my niece Amy wrote me about a cool tool at MyHeritage.com. You can upload a picture of yourself (large, front-facing ones are best) and have it tell you which celebrity you resemble the most.
When I first tried it, I got rather unexpected results:
Imagine my disappointment when it reported, "Sorry, no faces were detected."
I informed Amy that MyHeritage thinks I don’t have a face, at least not in that picture. Because my niece is not as lazy as me, she cropped out just my face and resubmitted it.
Drumroll please………!!!!
MyHeritage thinks I look like figure skater Michelle Kwan. Do you agree?
If you have a face, submit it here and drop a comment in the drawer to let me know who it thinks you look like. Then I can imagine who my readers are!

This is funny. I did the myheritage.com thing over a year ago and posted the results at my blog at the time. I don’t think I’m ready to repost the results at Special Kind of Stupid, though. The results were scary.

I entered my standard profile pic and I got a 64% match with Barry Williams (I don’t know who HE is) and a 61% match with Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) or 63% Tori Amos. My masculinity certainly took a bashing there. I was only a 53% match for Al Pacino which I think is a disgrace.
There were a surprising amount of celebrities that I never heard of. I’m well out of touch, it seems.

Mouhahahaha! It says I look like Son Ye-jin, a sexy Korean movie star. I’m guessing they don’t have a lot of Asian faces in their database, haha, but I don’t care! I’ll believe it anyway!!! ;p

Alas, I am faceless as well.
No matter what picture I put in, it just kept coming back, faceless.
Luckily, I am on the internet where faces are optional.

@ Maureen — I’m thinking less and less of this tool when I see what results it’s giving. It’s fun nonetheless. At least my niece was able to give me a face to submit. I feel better having a face.

Natural Woman — I agree I look like Michele Kwan. I have Asian-looking eyes. Very narrow. You should try it. Sometimes the results are so way off they’re funny!
